Our shaker is a Ling LDS 825 with associated G+W
16kVA amplifier. The digital control system for the shaker can
apply random, sine and classical shock drives and combination
waveforms such as sine-on-sine and sine-on-random to simulate
helicopter or gunship transportation. The maximum
payload is 375kg with greater than 4 metres of available
headroom. A 1200X1200mm head expander and a 1200x750mm slip table are
available. The slip table allows vibration in the horizontal
plane whilst keeping the test item in its normal operating
position.

- HALT Testing [more...]
This equipment allows a product to be mechanically
and thermally stressed at the same time. The product is bolted
to a table and is subjected to broadband random vibration at
intensities of up to 80G. The sample is also thermally stressed
by ramping the temperature at rates of up to 60C per minute over
the temperature range from -100C to +200C. The severity of the
mechanical and thermal stress is increased until the product
fails to function correctly. Once the cause of failure has been
located the design can be improved.
